Due to the large expat community that has settled in Sayulita over the course of the last 20+ years, I was surprised to find that there was lots of good food to choose from in this little town.  And I am not just talking about tacos and margaritas (which are also pretty great by the way)!  There is a lifestyle of health and wellness which feeds into the food here with many restaurants serving really fresh ingredients.  The diverse offering of tastes given it is just a mere surfing village was such a treat.  Here is a run-down of my Top Ten spots!

Palermo Dining Guide, Part Two

When it comes to dining, Buenos Aires has it all - from fine dining to hole in the walls and the quality of the food (not to mention the meat) is excellent!  Of course, like any city, it is impossible to go to them all but I was seriously impressed with each and every one of the restaurants I was able to make it to.  My main focus was in the Palermo neighborhood as this is where I was staying and also the area that most of the best restaurants are located.   As a continuation to my previous Palermo Dining Guide Post, here are the remaining 5 places of my Top Ten list...

Brasero Atlantico

Brasero Atlantco is an extension of Floreria Atlantico, the speak-easy next door that is one of the top bars in Buenos Aires.  I loved the small but open space where everything is cooked in a wood-fire oven.  They served the best steak I had during my entire trip, which is pretty impressive given how much I had tried!  Portions are generous, bring a friend.

A Food Lover's Paradise

The Estancia is a true family stay which means that everything is included in your daily rate - from the lodging to the activities to the amazing meals and drinks you are offered.  I generally do not like 'all-inclusive' types of experiences so my expectation for the food was not high.  But the Beggs, being well traveled themselves, understand how important good food is to discerning visitors.  Los Potreros has a professionally trained chef and assistant who whip up some of the dreamiest things you can imagine.

Warning: Unless you have really strong willpower, you will gain weight during your stay here BUT isn't that what vacations are for?

Here is just a small taste of what I experienced...

Palermo Dining Guide, Part One

As a lifelong resident of California, I must profess that my standard for food is pretty high (as are those of my VoyJoie clients).  I spent a lot of time researching the food scene of Buenos Aires and really wanted to hit the current highlights, which I am happy to report are many!  The Palermo neighborhood, in particular, has a huge array of choice and is known to be where the best restaurants in the city are housed.  Below is the first half of my TOP TEN guide to Palermo Dining...trust me, it is worth going to Buenos Aires even if you do nothing other than eat!  Buen Provecho!
